Important: MedFair provides general informational reference pricing based on publicly available CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) data. It does not constitute legal, financial, or medical advice, and no attorney-client, advisory, or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of this website.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MedFair website and bill comparison tool (collectively, the "Service"), operated by MedFair ("MedFair," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
MedFair offers a free, browser-based calculator that compares a medical bill amount you enter against publicly available Medicare Physician Fee Schedule reference pricing published by CMS. Based on that comparison, the Service may generate a downloadable dispute letter template. MedFair also offers an optional, one-time-purchase version of the dispute letter through our checkout flow.
3. Not Legal, Financial, or Medical Advice
The Service is provided strictly for general informational and educational purposes. The reference pricing, dispute letter templates, and any other content provided through the Service:
- Do not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a licensed attorney;
- Do not constitute financial or billing advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a licensed financial counselor or patient advocate; and
- Do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations of any kind.
You are solely responsible for evaluating the accuracy, completeness, and applicability of any information provided by the Service to your specific situation. We strongly encourage you to consult a qualified healthcare attorney, patient advocate, or financial counselor before taking any action based on information from MedFair.
4. No Guarantee of Outcome
MedFair makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee that disputing a medical bill using a letter generated through our Service will result in a reduced bill, a successful negotiation, or any particular outcome with a hospital, provider, or billing department. Results depend on factors outside of our control, including the policies of the specific provider involved.
5. Accuracy of Reference Pricing
Reference pricing displayed through the Service is derived from publicly available CMS Physician Fee Schedule data and is provided "as is." While we aim to keep this data current and accurate, CMS reference rates are updated periodically and may not reflect the most recent fee schedule, regional pricing adjustments, or the specific facility fees, supply costs, or other charges that can legitimately affect a final bill. MedFair does not guarantee the completeness or current accuracy of any reference price shown.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information when using the calculator and to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for the content of any dispute letter you send to a third party, including its accuracy and any consequences of sending it.
7. Payments
Certain features of the Service, such as the official dispute letter download, may require a one-time payment as indicated at checkout. All fees are stated in U.S. dollars and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and underlying code, is owned by MedFair or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent, other than downloading a dispute letter generated for your own personal use.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MedFair and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any reliance placed on reference pricing or dispute letter content.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which MedFair is headquartered, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
